Dangerous goods
Security is our first concern when dealing with dangerous goods. We are the only company in CargoCity South authorized to handle all classifications of dangerous goods (1 - 9, except explosives), as well as to store them for a longer period of time, including radioactive freight. A storage area of 2,000 m² for dangerous goods and a capacity of 200 tons which is in accordance with strict security demands is looked after by our experienced staff who are trained on a regular basis according to the latest regulations.
At Frankfurt airport we treat dangerous goods and substances with the greatest care: together with the
Fraport AG experts, our dangerous goods staff controls every single dangerous goods consignment in respect of documentation and also physically. Dangerous goods data is being transmitted according to
IATA standards to the respective airport of acceptance. We work according to the strict specifications of the International
Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and train our dangerous goods team every two years according to the latest legal requirements and the specific regulations applicable to radiation protection. This way we ensure extensive competence and detailed expert knowledge of all employees handling dangerous goods.

Regular meetings of experts
We offer round table discussions for the exchange of expert knowledge on hazardous goods six times annually. Here experts of companies and authorities meet to evaluate new findings and regulations and to pass recommendations for practical implementation. We also are members of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Verkehrsflughäfen (ADV, association of German commercial airports) and are official advisor of the Federal Republic of Germany at the Dangerous Goods Panel
ICAO.
We have also set new trends at the national Rhine-Main-Hazardous-Goods-Conferences which we organized for commercial air traffic. This is the only event of its kind which puts the emphasis mainly on transport of dangerous goods in the air. Here the latest trends are discussed and information is exchanged about planned changes.
Safety first
Top priority is of course to protect humans and environment from harmful influences of dangerous goods and preparations. According to the chemicals' act (Chemikaliengesetz, ChemG) and the dangerous goods bylaw (Gefahrstoffverordnung GefStoffV) we test all chemical substances, preparations and products according to work, health and environment safety. We observe of course all protection measures and rules of conduct provided by law.
We are as a company well aware of our high level of responsibility and take advantage of all possible opportunities to reduce dangerous goods. We use valuation methods on a regular basis to test the possibilities to exchange one specific hazardous material for another less dangerous one, change or modify it.
